In the Penguin's class, we see Maths as a hands-on subject which requires us to think, explore and challenge ourselves. Every lesson begins with a clear learning objective which is shared with children so that they know what they are working towards. Pupils then explore the skill through the use of practical and visual aids which help to promote a solid understanding of the material. Next, there is time to practice the skill before they are give a range of challenges which develop their fluency and reasoning skills. These fascinating challenges hook pupils in and really help them develop their mathematical mind.
Please view the Windhill Primary School Curriculum Document to see what skills are specifically being taught this year.
