Internet Safety

Windhill School takes the safety of our children very seriously, and that includes keeping them safe when they are online. As technology advances, children are able to access online services, including sharing of photos and chat, in a huge variety of ways, including computers, laptops, tablets, mobile phones and games consoles. Teachers trained by CEOP, the National Crime Agency Child Exploitation and Online Protection team, have ensured that pupils all understand the dangers of being online, and how to protect themselves. But there is still a lot that you can do as a parent.

  • Be aware of what your child does when they are online
  • Learn what services different devices give access to
  • Let your child know that they can come to you and tell you if anything online worries or upsets them
  • Be understanding. Children can find things accidentally that they should not see - they need to know they can come to an adult for advice
